ROYANA BLACK
Royana has been acting professionally for over 25 years, beginning with the Broadway production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, which she left after a year and a half so that she could attend a sleepover party. She has been fortunate enough to work regularly in both film and television, but her first love will always be theatre. She has been Artistic Director of the Alliance Repertory Company for the past 3 years, bringing the critically-acclaimed productions of Cubicles, Sister Cities, Westward Expansion and Suzan Lori-Parks 365 Days/365 Plays. Currently, she is continuing to develop the Alliance Repertory Company’s partnership with New River Dramatists, as well as bringing in new works from talented playwrights all over the world. She is a rabid Yankee fan.
