Dear Friend of the Theatre,

2009 was a year of rebirth for The Alliance Repertory Company. After a little more than two years being theatre-less, we finally found a home and moved in September 1. We are now located in the NoHo Arts District! We spent about six months rebuilding the company, and adding incredibly talented new members to our roster. We have a strong partnership with a writing collective called New River Dramatists (www.newriverdramatists.org) and many, many world premiere plays by both well-known and up-and-coming playwrights from around the country. We ended 2009 with a slate of eight one-acts, cleverly titled "Eight" and the entire company was either on stage or helped in some great capacity.

None of this would have been possible without your support.

With your generous contributions we are able to continue to produce the kind of theatre you've come to expect from The Alliance: relevant, thought-provoking new works that you aren't able to see anywhere else. Together with New River Dramatists and other local playwrights, we intend to do our part to inspire, support and promote excellence in Los Angeles theatre. Please help us continue our mission of enriching lives with the magic of theatre.

The current financial crisis is affecting everybody. Not-for-profits like The Alliance Repertory Company have been hit hard. Like us, many Los Angeles theatres have lost their spaces. We were fortunate enough to find a new home - and we will continue to present high-quality programming with your vital support. In the first half of 2010, we will have a world premiere by acclaimed playwright Steven Fechter, most well-known for his play and film The Woodsman. In addition, we have started a new weekly event, "5 4 5" in which 5 performers present 5 new works of any kind (music, poetry, scenes, etc.) for $5.

Out of respect for everyone's current budget concerns, we're asking for whatever amount you are able to give. All contributions will help us to reach our 2010 Individual Donor Appeal Goal of $25,000, and every dollar you give is fully tax-deductible.
